ABOUT SUSIE
Hi! My name is Susanna Ratsavong, but please call me Susie. I’m an attorney turned stay-at-home mom to two beautiful children who I hope to raise in this township. My husband, Troy, is a veteran of the Marine Corps. We are a Northeast Ohioan (that’s me!) and Western New Yorker who found our way to Greater Philadelphia in 2012. When it was time to settle down with our two dogs, we discovered a wonderful place to call home in Wyndmoor—a few blocks from the train to the big city, and a few blocks to the village feeling of Chestnut Hill, a little bit of grass and a small town community, too. These are some of the things that spoke to us as a place to make a future.
We love where we live.
While my job these days revolves around keeping two little humans (and two little pups) happy, I am also a licensed attorney. I have worked in law and advocacy on issues of immigration, small business, and as a public relations representative. With an expertise in communications, I have also worked for technology/startup companies as sales, marketing and events directors. I earned my J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where I also studied toward a Master of Urban Planning and Development. I hold B.A. in American Politics from The University of Akron.
I have a background and interest in thoughtful community planning and good governance, but also good neighborliness. I live in this community and want to make it the best place it can be so that we all continue to enjoy the quality of life that brought us here in the first place.
Mom. Wife. Homemaker. Lawyer. Future Commissioner.
A lawyer by profession, but a homemaker by choice, I have the privilege of the time and energy to share as a public servant. If we have not had the pleasure of meeting, let’s make that happen in a pandemic-safe way soon!
